Stroke Prevention Clinic

For a printable, bilingual, information pamphlet with all the clinic has to offer please click here.

The Stroke Prevention Clinic (SPC) focuses on patients who have had recent strokes or TIAs. This outpatient hospital-based clinic provides individualized, evidence-based secondary prevention management and care for high risk patients on an urgent basis.

Fast track testing occurs and an initial consult with a Neurologist is arranged. At the same time, evaluations are made to determine the degree of risk for future stroke, consultations are booked with a Nurse Practitioner and health teaching/risk factor management is organized.

Referrals to the Stroke Prevention Clinic can be made by a family physician, walk-in clinic physician, medical specialist, or an emergency physician. The clinic works in partnership with the family physician and ensures clear communication of what plan of care has occurred.

How will I know if I am having a TIA or stroke?

If you experience any of these symptoms call 9-1-1.

The SPC clinic is currently located on Level 3 in room 3323.
