Please donate, for Alex’s sake
At 9 months old, Alex started getting sick with asthma flare ups, like some babies do. But the long recovery and a string of infections and then complications, like pink eye which then turned into periorbital cellulitis, (infection of the eyelid and skin around the eye) salmonella bacteremia (severe salmonella blood poisoning), encephalitis (swelling of the brain) or when he would not respond to the medications/antibiotics he was prescribed, his mom, Lianne, thought that there might be something wrong. At the young age of 3 years old, Alex has been hospitalized 16 times.

CCH Sponsors Blood Drive
Every minute of every day, someone in Canada needs blood. The body’s liquid life source that carries nutrients and oxygen to the tissues is the most sought after donation in the world and Cornwall Community Hospital (CCH) is doing its part to make sure enough is available in your time of need. As a proud “Partner for Life” with Canadian Blood Services, CCH sponsored a blood drive on July 4th 2017 at the Ramada Inn Cornwall. The summer holiday season is especially taxing on blood with an increase in motor vehicle accidents due to summer travelling this time of year.
